Then again, a few ms of difference is unlikely to make any noticeable effect in real-world use cases where clients already have local DNS caching and the bulk of the time is data transfer, not DNS lookups.

You’d be surprised.


4.2.2.x (Level3) is one of those resolvers hijacking negative answers and redirecting your to their "search pages".


In my tests 4.2.2.1 performs 50% faster than 1.1.1.1 and is twice as fast as 8.8.8.8.
