Your iPhone can do that on it's own if you connect it to a bluetooth or CarPlay headset when you're in the car... It will remember where you are when you disconnect from it and tag it on the map for you.

It'd be nice if I could use the Find My app for that rather than needing to open the Maps app (since I use other maps apps).

Absolutely. I believe it'll find anything where it's placed - shoes, rackets, dog etc
